SAPPHOQ ON SQUIDOO 11/2/06
Hi friends,

Last night I found squidoo.
Check out what I did on squidoo: http://www.squidoo.com/sapphoq/
Do you squidoo too?

I have been having fun discovering new sites via StumbleUpon and then adding them to my del.icio.us bookmarking site.

Happy Sam Hain to all of those who celebrated Sam Hain. I hid from the trick-or-treaters successfully on Tuesday evening. Yesterday, I took Blondie down a dirt path by the river where I called out the names of my physical and spiritual ancestors.

Today is our wedding anniversary. And Sunday marks the third year anniversary of my traumatic brain injury.

I was appalled at the most recent debaucle involving John Kerry and his "botched joke." It was offensive no matter what the intention was behind it. I don't think I will live long enough to see the day when politicians stop smearing each other. Blaming the aftermath of his own foot-in-mouth disease on the Republicans further illustrates a lesson in how to avoid personal responsibility. In my opinion, there are far better ways for a speaker to advise an audience of their view of the events in the Middle East.

I will continue to visit blogs this week!
But not tonight. We are going out to dinner!

What is your opinion on the recent Kerry episode?
John Kerry really did botch a joke and everyone should get over it.

The Republicans are over-reacting.

It is a republican conspiracy.

RESTRICTIONS, RESTRICTIONS, RESTRICTIONS 10/30/06
My buddy String over at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-TemqM3wib7TaYZfb7DhGTCz5og--?cq=1 has written some excellent
blog posts regarding Big Corporations who wish to dictate how we consumers
are able to use how we use our purchased media, the media restrictive laws,
and stuff like that. Very much worth a look-see for anyone who like me was
brought up being able to download music off the radio with tape recorders
or trading music with friends.

Meanwhile, M$ is imposing a set of restrictions on their new os VISTA. I thought
one could only repair it 10 times but I was mistaken-- the actual restriction limits
the consumer to ONE reinstall before being forced to re-purchase. See:
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=35057 for more accurate
information than I was initially aware of.
Googling "VISTA restrictions" will bring up more hits-- both pro and con.

The sad thing about all this Digital Restriction Media Rights stuff going on
for me is that the musicians who actually made the music are not the ones
benefitting from fines [and prison sentences? in some cases? unconfirmed]
being imposed upon those who are sharing their cds via filesharing services.
If the musicians themselves were being given a cut of the fine money, then
perhaps I could understand it a tiny bit more but to my knowledge they are
not.

The cost to musicians of people making copies of cds or sharing work is
factored in to any purchases made in Canada. To me, an added surcharge
upon the purchase of cds and other media makes far more sense than making
it illegal for the american public to discuss the hows of defeating the
rootkits embedded onto cds.

Just my opinion.

As usual, everyone is welcome to post the pros and cons of this subject as
long as the posts are backed up with thoughtful opinions rather than
flaming or name-calling.

SAPPHOQ's IDEAS FOR LIVING 10/29/06
I decide that I want to have a healthy life.
If I want something different, I gotta do something different.
I empower my self to make the changes I need to make in my own life.
I identify what helps me in my healing and what hurts me in my healing.
I dump toxicity.
I stop hurting others and stop allowing others to hurt me.
I recognize my progress.
I work towards community empowerment with others.

Hi friends,

The last few days have been consumed with Micro$oft Wars. I downloaded Internet Explorer from their site and the main computer has been haywire ever since. When the telephone-techie at M$ could not help me, my case became one for the M$ supertech who allegedly is going to call me on Monday between 2 and 4 pm [having not called today nor yesterday]. I figure if the computer fails to be fixed, I'm going to wipe Windows and goto SUSE a bit earlier than I thought is all.
I have stopped by some of your sites today and I will continue to visit with comments this week.
Tuesday night is the New Year for me and a time to celebrate my ancestors-- spiritual as well as physical.
Blessed Be!

The tag is one I made for my e-group friendsofsapphoq over at: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/friendsofsapphoq/ . [If any of you are interested in joining up, write that you know me from 360 on the application.]

I will visit some more of your blogs later today.

Take care of YOU. Always.

SPIKE Q. NEEDS 10/6/06
SPIKE Q. NEEDS 10/6/06 magnify

idea from Dianna over at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-yZlGtdA.aac9gydwI.bgkQLUaoqL?p=1128&n=28500

Pic taken by spike q of Bramble and Netta united against mother-in-law's cats while visiting Chebeague Island in Maine. Twinkle's pic will be posted mid-week after my return from Bennington Vermont with a weekend jaunt to Provincetown Massachusetts.

Here's something need I got from Dianna's blog. First you type in your name followed by the word "needs" into your search engine and list the top ten results:

spike q needs: a recipe disc, dough, answers, to make changes in the registry, housekeeping, special things, to order stock, a certain aspect or quality, to return as a different character, splicing.

Then, you can either post it in your blog like this:

spike q. needs a recipe disc.

spike q. needs dough.

spike q. needs answers.

spike q. needs to make changes in the registry.

spike q. needs housekeeping.

spike q. needs special things.

spike q. needs to order stock.

spike q. needs a certain aspect or quality.

spike q. needs to return as a different character.

spike q. needs splicing.

Or, you can do some adding, subtracting and rearranging to make a poem out of the words like this:

Special Needs

I need a recipe, to find some answers, or maybe

to make changes to the registry. I need more dough,

internal housekeeping, to order stock, or maybe

some wholesale splicing. People have told me

that I need a certain aspect or character trait that

I seem to be lacking. Or maybe to die and then

reincarnate as someone else entirely. To that,

I say, "No thank-you." Once has been enough

for me if not way too much and too long as it is.

Til Wednesday then. Don't forget to take care of YOU ! spike q
